Why audio industry took the wrong turn
~Our approach of speaker development~

Audio industry has neglected the very potential of human ears

The audio industry took the wrong turn-The industry seek to capture audiophiles' heart and attention by enhancing specs and technicality of audio equipments, such as efforts to widen frequency range. This way, listeners' ears are overstuffed with more than ever needed information.

On contrary to this approach, human ears have never evolved for nor are built to tolerate such sound. In the course of human evolution, the environment we live in has never required human ears to get used to such sound.

We are confident in saying so because this is our first-hand, true voices and ample data from customers obtained through our on-site audio clinic session and equipment installation services over decades.

Seeking flat frequency property leads to "lifeless" sound

Rather than seeking flat frequency property, the true and primal focus should be referenced and balanced to "human voice" range, followed by high and low range, all relative to this "core" range-This is where the soul of music divines.

We cannot overemphasize this point-Seeking flat frequency profile on electronic measurements will only lead to dead, lifeless sound.

Full-range speaker is the ABC's of audio equipment

We believe the best audio experience results from redefining "low" range as the lowest sound away from the core key reference range (sound/tone) and "high" range as highest sound away from the core reference range (sound/tone), all in relativity.

As we all know, stick with the basic is the best short-cut for best result. In order to accomplish best results, audio engineers must train their ears with full-range speakers first, focusing on not the extreme "ends" of spectrum but rather, what's in the center or "core" that drives and resonates with listeners' soul.

What is the sound that strikes soul of listeners?

When human ears are exposed to the extremely high and low sound, the consciousness tends to shift away from the most sensitive range of human ears at 2~6kHz, which essentially put our ears "out of work." Human ears are most sensitive at this range, multiple times more, and that is why speaker design cannot miss the central frequency range.

Be it a narrow-range or wide-range speakers, the ball needs to be thrown at the very strike zone, independent of frequency range. When the strike zone is hit correctly, natural and true harmonic overtone will reveal itself.

Answer lies in your instinct

Professional musicians support our approach. They rarely purchase pricy wide-range audio equipments because they have different set of priority-they hear "music" with their instinct, rather than a mere "sound."

We cannot help feel the parallels in audio to our modern world- For instance, recent modern cars are overloaded with electronics and computer-assisted system, taking away the joy of driver experience. If feels as though computers are forcing us to drive beyond our control, resulting in stress. In the worst case, it could threaten one's life if the computer bug on the move. Similarly, we are surrounded by food overdosed with pesticides, low-quality lifeless animal oil, leading to adult diseases, and mortal threats to our lives.

Magic Series "Kaiser Magic"

Speaker system named "Kaiser Magic"

The Kaiser Magic is our art of work to realize the world's best full-range speaker, packed with Kaiser Sound knowhow. The "Tri-mode Unit" is the original speaker unit is co-developed with Feastrex and Rosenkranz.

Cone, horn, dome-Three different shaped diaphragms are precisely positioned along a single sound source axis.

5-inch full range unit using hand-made Japanese paper cone

For diaphragms, we chose Japanese paper hand made by Iwano Ichibei, the human national treasure known for traditional Echizen letter paper. The fibers in this paper is crisscrossed (closely meshed), realizing both the strength and vibration attenuation, perhaps the perfect and unrivaled material for speaker diaphragm.

Like a light feather, the diaphragm is driven by a powerful alnico magnet, realizing accurate replication of musical expression.

While sub-cone type are generally great for speakers, there are few drawbacks. For instance, it tends to have a particular peak property and sound characteristics fluctuate when dimensional factors are changed.

At Rosenkranz, we position each diaphragm component at aimed harmony point with in the accuracy of 1/100 millimeter, realized by vibration wave control technique cultivated in developing insulators.

A speaker designed by the king of insulator

The speaker enclosure employs dimensions derived by Kaiser Gauge for superb musicality, unrivaled to even the most popular speakers at all times.

The design uses the progressive form of infinite baffle, with a curvature closing towards the rear end. The rear side is open from top to bottom. Looking from top, the arch with rear opening looks like a rectangular horseshoe.

Perfecting vibration mechanism

The height of the speaker is exactly 945 millimeter to match the balance of low, mid and high frequency range. The baffle width and side board ratio is fixed at 5:4:6 ratio to drive beautiful harmonics.

For the enclosure, MDF is employed for neutral sound responsiveness, with super fine grade paint finish used for grand piano. The inside and outside paint hardness is varied to liberate energy.

Furthermore, even the 24 millimeter side board is designed to enhance sonic vibration acceleration. We have taken an extra step to glue 18 millimeter board piece and 6 millimeter board piece to form one side board.

There is no reinforcement material used. The musical energy is generated from the entire speaker body and then liberated towards the rear end of the speaker. Unbelievable serenity level is achieved at the baffle plane (where speaker unit is attached) because the employed seismic isolation like structure leaves the baffle intact from vibrational impact.

Unbiased, vertical directioned hard maple bonded-wood is used for bottom and rear board. The whip resulting from solid meshed fibers realizes reproduction of hard and tight percussion to smooth strings.

We aimed the fusion of musical instrument and speaker

The attachment of speaker unit is another area of development we have put our relentless effort in. The speaker unit is locked between baffle and flower shaped metal ring, with a 3.2 millimeter space ring in between.

With this design, musical energy source liberated from speaker unit directly interacts with both wood and metal, realizing powerful sound as if live instruments are played. We have incorporated the "sound screen" effect within speaker, making it uniquely "Kaiser Magic" sound mechanism.

With open rear-end full-range unit, the sound is liberated to back of the speaker strongly as it does toward front side. Because there is no electrical latency associated with network circuitry, unbelievable liveliness is realized.

Kaiser Magic is easy to optimize upon installation

While being a dynamic type, the speaker possesses advantage of planer type speakers. It is "the" ideal 5-inch point sound sourced speaker. With a close gaze at speaker, one cannot tell where the sound is coming from.

That's how perfect the phase match is between electric and vibration. We can proudly proclaim that we are the world's best in this aspect.

You literary "see" the stage in the back of speakers. After such a magical sound, the speaker is named "Kaiser Magic."

Experience the magic.
